Selling Tampa‘s Sharelle Rosado, 34, and retired NFL player Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson are engaged!
Johnson and Rosado have called each other “fiancé/fiancée,” but it was made official on Saturday. According to People, Johnson gathered close family and friends to witness the special moment in Miami.
Rosado told the outlet that she assumed it was an early birthday party for Johnson, who turned 45 on Monday.
“He is definitely not a planner, so for him to pull this off for me is so amazing,” she said. “Just the thought he put into this and having our family and friends here to witness says a lot.”
In the proposal video Rosado posted on Instagram, she and Johnson leaned toward each other, talking about their future, including marriage. That’s when the former NFL player got down on one knee and proposed. Rosado didn’t initially think he was genuinely proposing until he brought out the oval cut, seven 1/2-carat ring.
To the 34-year-old, their engagement is “the next step of [their] beautiful journey together,” adding, “I’m so emotional because when we first started dating, he used to always tell me, ‘I’m going to make you my wife.'”
She continued, “Although in my heart I knew we were always meant to be, now that it’s official, it’s even more special than I could have ever dreamed.”
The two haven’t been engaged for that long, but they already have ideas about where to exchange “I dos.”
“We are already talking about possibly getting married in the Bahamas and having the Valley Boys Junkanoo close us out,” Rosado shared. “It’s a special spot for us, we celebrated our daughter’s first birthday in the Bahamas as a family over the holidays.”
The two share their one-year-old daughter, Serenity Paula Johnson.
