Common & Tiffany Haddish Reportedly Call It Quits After Dating For Over A Year

The two went public with their relationship in 2020.

Over a year after comedian Tiffany Haddish and rapper-actor Common publicly confirmed their relationship, the pair have reportedly gone their separate ways, with a source revealing to PEOPLE that distance and time apart were deciding factors in their recent split.

According to the outlet, the source stated, “They are never in the same city together, and both of them are just too busy for a serious relationship.” However, neither Common nor the Girls Trip star has confirmed the breakup.

Since Haddish and Common reportedly

stepped out as a couple in August 2020, the entertainers appeared to be growing together, even discussing marriage-related topics.

As Sister 2 Sister previously reported, Haddish sat down with Smartless podcast hosts Will Arnett, Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman, and revealed that she’d rather receive an apartment building over an engagement ring from the Chicago-native, saying in September, “If he decides he wants to marry me, cool. I don’t want a ring. I want an apartment building. You know they present you with a ring. I want him to present me with the deed to a duplex or a 36-plex.”

“Present me with an apartment building,” the 41-year-old continued. “Come at me with a deed, baby, don’t come at me with a ring. Because if you’re trying to buy my life and change my last name to your last name, a ring ain’t gonna do it. We can get the ring after you can get the building.”

Common, who has previously been linked to political commentator Angela Rye, tennis star Serena Williams and Taraji P. Henson of Empire fame, joined Haddish in recording their sultry version of the viral #SilhouetteChallenge earlier this year. The pair were shown embracing one another and making out in the dark with only their silhouettes showing.

Gushing about their new relationship, the rapper, 49, also sang Haddish’s praises in an interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan last year,

telling the hosts about his girlfriend at the time, “She’s a wonderful woman, a queen and just a beautiful person, man. I care for her a lot, enjoy her, and I’m grateful to have her in my life.”
