Comedian Craig Robinson Reacts To North Carolina Comedy Club Shooting

The suspect of the shooting is now in custody.

Comedian and The Office actor Craig Robinson’s set was canceled following a North Carolina comedy club shooting.

According to police, on Saturday night, a gunman fired a gun inside The Comedy Zone in Charlotte before Robinson was scheduled to perform.

In an Instagram Live video on Saturday, Robinson shared the play-by-play of the event, saying, “I’m performing at The Comedy Zone in Charlotte, N.C. There was an active shooter in the comedy club,” Robinson said.

“So they moved us over … there’s a concert going on, and it’s Big Time Rush, so I thought I would share it with y’all. But yeah…Hello, everybody,” he continued. “I’m safe. I’m cool. It was wild. I was in the green room, and they’re like, ‘everybody get out!’ It was a moment for sure.”

In a later post on Sunday, Robinson shared an “About last night” message to fans, thanking the team at the North Carolina club.

“Thank you to the Comedy Zone security and staff for getting us to safety quickly. Thank you, everyone, for your outpouring of support and well wishes. Thank you, CMPD, for swift action in apprehending the shooter. Hopefully, he gets the help he needs. Thanks be to God no one was hurt. Please stay safe, everyone.”
