Chicago Drill Rapper Lil Ronald Found Dead

Although police have not confirmed the identity of the 14-year-old victim, fellow rappers have posted tributes for Lil Ronald.

A 14-year-old boy was found shot to death on the south side of Chicago on Thursday, April 20. According to reports, the young boy is suspected to be a young ShortyMobb rapper named Lil Ronald, although police have not formally identified him as the gun violence victim.

Authorities reported that the shooting occurred around 1 PM at the 2300 block of East 80th Street in Chicago. The victim, whose identity was suggested to be Lil Ronald – real name Ronald Nolton – by fellow rappers and internet sleuths, suffered from a gunshot wound to the chest while still sitting inside the car. He was brought to the nearby South Shore Hospital, and although his condition was unknown upon transport, Ronald was pronounced dead soon after by Chicago police.

Suspicions of the 14-year-old boy’s identity being Lil Ronald come from several sources near the boy. A YouTube video posted the day after the tragic shooting by TruthTellerTV claimed to have knowledge confirming that the victim was Lil Ronald. Furthermore, DenchGang member, Lil Los, posted an Instagram story on Thursday that was a tribute to Lil Ronald.

Despite the speculation of the 14-year-old victim’s true identity, Chicago police have not confirmed it yet. There are currently no suspects apprehended for the shooting, and detectives are investigating the crime as a homicide. Many have been pointing fingers toward the gang-affiliated content of Lil Ronald’s online presence to explain the shooting. A recent photo of the 14-year-old posing for a picture holding up a handgun with an extended magazine has recently gone viral.
