Cardi B Allegedly Drops Out Of Paramount’s Comedy “Assisted Living”

The young mogul has been booked and busy.

Deadline reports that Cardi B allegedly dropped out of starring in Paramount’s comedy film Assisted Living due to her schedule being “overextended.”

The 29-year-old rapper was supposed to play the lead role of Amber, a small-time crook who finds herself on the run after being wrongly accused of a crime. With nowhere to turn and in need of time to prove her innocence, she decides to disguise herself as an elderly woman and live in her estranged grandmother’s nursing home.

According to Deadline, the cast and crew were told the film was at least being temporarily scratched after Cardi B abruptly announced her exit a week before the start of production.

Cardi’s last-minute departure could result in the studio taking legal action, but sources are hopeful that they may be able to “put the pieces back together later this year.”

The Grammy-winning rapper has acted in more minor roles in Hustlers and F9. Assisted Living was set to be Cardi B’s third film and would have been her first leading role in a movie.

Cardi B has been booked and busy over the last few months. It’s no wonder she felt “overextended” with producing a new film.

Cardi became

the first-ever creative director in residence for Playboy and partnered with Starco Brands to help launch their alcoholic whipped cream Whipshots. She also gave birth to her second child with her husband Offset last September.

Of course, some fans are upset about her decision.

Other fans are excited about the potential of new music projects and other ventures.
