Busta Rhymes Credits Swizz Beatz And Pharrell Williams For ‘Fixing Him,’ Says Of Pharrell ‘He’s A God To Me’

"Not only did I trust [them] with the truth, then n***as helped fix Bus Rhymes," Busta Rhymes said.

Busta Rhymes humbly revealed that he wouldn’t be the man and legendary rapper he is today without music producers Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams.

In a candid interview with Apple Music, the “Break Ya Neck” rapper divulged how he went through a rough patch in his life but prevailed thanks to his music industry friends, Pharrell, who he called a God, and Swizz.

Without going into specifics, Busta Rhymes says Pharrell managed

to get through to him in a manner no one else could.

“There’s been some times in the last four, five years where I needed to make some changes that was very serious changes, personally and professionally,” he said. “I became so complacent in this space that it was starting to harm me.”

He continued, “And I needed to talk to somebody and try to help get a navigation to help me reach to the destination that I needed to reach to get up out of that and get back to my happiness and my peace of mind. Pharrell and Swizz, very specifically in this area of my life, in this time of my life, were just two people that I was able to trust with my most vulnerable space.”

He added that while there were people he couldn’t open up to because of the possibility of his business getting out there, Pharrell and Swizz were different. “Not only did I trust [them] with the truth, then n***as helped fix Bus Rhymes.”

The conversation came up about his love and appreciation for the two music producers when the rapper was asked to describe the moment of being in Paris for Pharrell’s debut fashion show as Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director.

He described seeing Pharrell doing big in the music and fashion world as “tear-jerking,” explaining

how the “Happy” singer was overlooked amid his attempts to sell his beats to Electra Records.

Now, Pharrell is an iconic producer and songwriter, as well as Swizz. The two are working on Busta Rhyme’s upcoming album along with Timbaland.

“Wait till they hear how we are going to shift the culture,” Busta said.
