Brianna Oyewo Documents 130-Pound Weight Loss Journey During Pandemic

Brianna Oyewo, a wife and mother, living in New York, decided to make a few lifestyle changes after she noticed that her weight had reached over 280 pounds in June 2020. According to People, the Buffalo native opted to ditch heavily-processed and fast food in favor of a plant-based diet and adopted a consistent exercise routine, leading to an over 130-pound weight loss over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oyewo reportedly gave birth to her daughter in December 2019. But once the pandemic began in early 2020, the new mother found that she had a new reason to practice healthy habits,

telling People, “I wasn’t just thinking about myself this time. I was thinking about my daughter, I was thinking about my husband, and how I wanted to be around for them.”

“You’re hearing all this stuff on the news about COVID and how if you’re obese, it sets you at greater risk for serious illness. I was concerned about my life and the life of my daughter. I didn’t want to die an early death because I couldn’t put the pizza down. I wanted to be here for my husband and my daughter,” Oyewo continued.

According to People, the 33-year-old began watching workout videos on YouTube and eventually discovered HIIT workouts and weightlifting. Oyewo has

documented her weight loss journey and shared inspiring exercise videos with her over six thousand Instagram followers during the past year, recently sharing that she’s lost over 130 pounds.

I eat when I’m hungry and try to stick to the basics and keep it as simple as possible.”

Describing herself as “more confident” now, Oyewo has reportedly used her new passion for healthy eating and exercise to pursue a career as a trainer.
