Brazilian Butt Lift Most Dangerous Surgery Says ‘Botched’ Doctor

Sorry, Sir Mix-A-Lot! It's not worth it.

Hold on to your seat! On a recent episode of TMZ, Dr. Terry Dubrow of the popular series Botched cautioned viewers about the danger of getting a Brazilian Butt Lift. Surprisingly, the cosmetic procedure is the most dangerous plastic surgery and the most dangerous surgery period.

“It’s extraordinarily dangerous,” he said. “Turns out it’s the most dangerous, not only plastic surgery procedure. It’s the most dangerous operation there is with the highest fatality rate.”

The Brazilian Butt Lift, also referred to as a “BBL,” involves taking fat from one part of the body and transferring it to the buttocks, also referred to as “cakes.” People prefer the procedure over implants because fat looks more natural than manufactured silicone inserts.

The problem is that our bodies are a complex network of vessels, arteries, and veins. Although the fabricated gluteals often look like a removable accessory, the veins therein feed into the same bloodstream as the rest of the body. Fat doesn’t flow like blood, so the BBL puts the patient at risk for a fat embolism.

“If you get fat in those little vessels and it gets in the main vena cava, and it goes to your lungs, it’s over. It’s the most fatal operation there is,” Dr. Dubrow advised. Imagine going from a Brazilian Butt Lift to being airlifted.

It goes without saying that if you want to enhance your butt and don’t like to sweat, you should choose a qualified physician that will provide competent aftercare. Too many people have fallen victim to unlicensed individuals in damp basements with cement and syringes they bought on Amazon.

Cosmetic surgery is a personal choice, and it can feel like genetics are our biggest enemy, but death is always a possible result of surgery. Risking life and limb for elective surgery is a big risk to take just to look like some rapper’s new flavor of the month.
