Black Rob Of Bad Boy Records Dies At 51 After Allegedly Suffering Kidney Failure

After being hospitalized for kidney failure, the "Whoa!" rapper passed away on Saturday.

After allegedly suffering from kidney failure, Black Rob has died at age 51. Former Bad Boys Records artist Mark Curry broke the news on his Instagram page, letting fans know that he was with the rapper when he passed away Saturday, April 17.

We reported last week that Black Rob grieved and spoke on his late friend DMX’s passing from a hospital bed. Barely able to talk, fans were left concerned about the “Whoa!” rapper, and whether his health was declining.

Yesterday, longtime friend Mark Curry disclosed the news of Black Rob’s death in a teary video,

saying “I don’t know where to begin this, but I thank everybody for the donations. Rob passed away about an hour ago.”

In a second video that he captioned “Celebrate the life tonight…,” he revealed that he was there with Black Rob when he died. He also said that he finally spoke with Diddy after 15 years to talk about his Black Rob’s death. “Bad boy for life, yo…” he ended the video post.

DJ Self had previously recorded that he was in the hospital last week, and also revealed that he had been suffering from kidney failure. He also stated that Black Rob was out of the hospital last Saturday, April 10, but that he was “not at 100%.”

His exact ailment and cause of death remain unknown.

The radio personality also stated yesterday that he had been placed back into a hospital over the past week, where he later died. “Lord knows I tried to get help …… I’m sad to say RIP to Black Rob ….. Passed away in the hospital in Atlanta …..[prayer hand emoji],” he captioned a memorial photo of his friend.

DJ Self set up a GoFundMe page yesterday to help his family handle funeral expenses. He leaves behind four children.

Rest in peace, Black Rob. We hope that his family can get through this difficult time.
