Black Conservative Ty Smith Says Slavery Wasn’t Racist

Smith made the remarks on FOX News.

Black conservative Ty Smith claimed that slavery wasn’t racist while appearing on FOX News on July 13, according to The Independent. Smith agreed with the host who challenged the fact that the country is systematically racist and was

founded on racism. Then he said that slavery wasn’t a racist thing.

The YouTube host falsely told FOX host Martha MacCallum that the country was not founded on racism. Furthermore, he claimed that slavery wasn’t racist.

“It’s absolutely absurd because nobody really wants to get the real history of it,” said Smith. “America was not founded on racism. Don’t get me wrong. Yeah, there was slavery going on, but slavery itself was not initially a racist thing. It never was about race initially. So to sit there and take it like America was founded on racism is a complete lie. Yeah, there was slavery going on, but slavery was going on in all the world. It never was a race thing, so why are we making it a race thing now?”

Smith was seemingly unaware that the FOX News anchor was finished speaking with him as soon as she got what she wanted, a token Black person agreeing with her Republican ideology. As soon as Smith co-signed and said slavery wasn’t racist, she thanked him for his service.

The conservative was roasted on social media for his dumb comments.

Smith has appeared on FOX News before protesting the country’s history. He said that critical race theory was nonsense. He also falsely claimed that it made young people hate other races.

“To me it’s a whole bunch of nonsense, virtue signaling, playing off people’s emotion. The only race there is the human race,” he said.
