Beyoncé Takes Center Stage As Honorary Mayor

Queen Beyoncé has just taken her reign to a whole new level, and Santa Clara is bending the knee – but this time, not just to her music.

The sizzling and soulful diva has been granted the honorary title of mayor in none other than the fabulous city of Santa Clara.

As Beyoncé’s electrifying ‘Renaissance’ tour sweeps through the heart of California, the spotlight isn’t the only thing following her. On Wednesday, Levi’s Stadium will play host to her fifth headlining concert at the venue, and as if that weren’t enough star power for one city, Santa Clara has gifted her the silver key to their kingdom. Let’s just say, it’s Beyoncé’s world – we’re just living in it.

Dr. Yvette Noel-Schure, the maestro’s devoted publicist, graciously accepted the shimmering key on her behalf, and she couldn’t help but shower Santa Clara with gratitude. “To all who made the decision to honor her here in Santa Clara and in the state of California,” she said. “I have worked with Beyoncé now for close to 27 years, and it gives me great joy to see her still being recognized for her contribution to the arts and to society at large.”

“She has spent a great amount of time honing her craft, not just to create memorable anthems around the world, but also mantras to boost confidence to get the strength to get up in the morning. To enter a room proud of who you are, whose you are, where you come from and who you love,” she added.

“As one of the most decorated artists in history, we are thrilled to have Beyonce back here in Santa Clara as she contributes to the economic vitality of our city,” she continued. “Beyonce demonstrates an incredible dedication to economic equity and championing marginalized communities through her service to communities globally. In recognition of her artistry and humanitarianism, we are proud to present Beyonce a key to our city along with the title of honorary mayor.”
