Beyoncé & Jay-Z Could Possibly Compete For “Best Original Song” In 2022 Oscars

A little friendly competition...

Grammy-Award-winning artist and power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce could be competing in the 2022 Oscars for “Best Original Song.”

According to Hot New Hip Hop, the 2022 Oscars are set to take place next March in Los Angeles, and fans of the program are already planning for who they want to nominate on February 8, Oscars Nomination day.

Beyonce’s song “Be Alive,” written with DIXSON, a Roc-Nation signee, will be featured on the upcoming film King Richard which chronicles rising tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams and may land a “Best Original Song” Oscar nomination.

“Guns Go Bang,” Jay-Z’s collaboration with Kid Cudi, is set to be included in the All-Black Western Film The Harder They Fall, which Jay-Z co-produced, and is also a possible Oscar nomination for the same award.

The powerhouse couple could make Oscar history as the first couple to compete for the same award.

Jay-Z could also be nominated for The Harder They Fall’s title song, which he co-wrote with the movie’s director, Jaymes Samuel, sung by Jamaican artist Koffee.

Some of the other couples who have competed in the past include Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, Joel Coen and Frances McDonald and Heath Ledger, and Michelle Williams. They have received Oscar nominations in the same year and even for movies, but not in the same category.

Despite more than half a year until the nominations come up, it seems to be a genuine chance for the power couple to end up nominated for the same category.

As recently reported, Jay-z and Beyonce broke another record after appearing together in a Tiffany & Co. ad campaign.
