The family of a fatal crowd surge victim at an Armory concert in New York hired civil rights attorney Ben Crump to represent them in an upcoming lawsuit.

On March 5 at the GloRilla and Finesse 2Tymes concert in Rochester, a tragic incident took place that resulted in the deaths of three women and injuries to several others. The city of Rochester has decided to indefinitely shut down Main Street Armory venue.

The fatalities at the concert included Rhondesia Belton,33, Brandy Miller, 35, and Aisha Haskins-Stephens, 35.

Crump has previously worked on high-profile cases such as Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and George Floyd. He has stated that Haskins-Stephens’ death could have been avoided and expressed his concerns over the lack of safety measures at concert venues.

“It is disturbing that after the deaths caused by a crowd stampede at the Astroworld Festival, more precautions have not been taken at concert venues,” Crump said. “Aisha’s death was completely preventable, and we are calling for transparency from Main Street Armory, GloRilla, and event staff as the investigation into how this tragedy transpired continues.”

According to Democrat and Chronicle, although GloRilla and Finesse 2Tymes were not present at the time of the incident and are not currently under criminal investigation, they have both offered condolences to the victims’ families.

“I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show,” Glorilla said. “My fans mean the world to me praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected.”

Finesse stated, “As far as the situation in New York, condolences to the family and the people who was injured. That’s what I wanted to say. I think it was a situation where someone fell, and people started running, things got out of control and innocent people got hurt. But it wasn’t nothing violent going on. It’s just the internet.”
