Since Verzuz was birthed at the height of the pandemic, music producers Swizz Beats and Timbaland provided music fans with memorable matchups with the industry’s most legendary artists. However, the latest face-off will include R&B legends Anthony Hamilton and Musiq Soulchild.
On Monday, the official Verzuz Instagram platform confirmed the news with a flyer promoting the upcoming battle on Tuesday, Feb. 15. With Hamilton’s southern vocals and Soulchild’s neo-soulful sound, the ladies will be in for a treat this Valentine’s Day. The event will be live at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. Like previous matchups, the show will begin with a DJ battle at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET, and the main event is set to kick off at 6:15 p.m. PT/9:15 p.m. ET.
“You asked, and we heard you, VERZUZ for Valentines,” the Philly jawn wrote on his Instagram post while sharing the news. The Charlotte native also teased the event.
“Charlene already asking for tickets,” he wrote in a separate post on his Instagram account.
After the news went viral, Twitter users expressed their excitement for the upcoming matchup between the two soulful singers.
