Angela ‘Blac Chyna’ Renee White To Star As Nisi In The Play Adaptation Of ‘B.A.P.S’

Formerly known as Blac Chyna, the reformed Angela Renee White announced she was cast in the impending stage play version of B.A.P.S to portray Nisi.

White made the announcement on Instagram by posting a photo of her in character.

“Wow God is so good and everything that I’ve ever envisioned is finally all happening! I’m so excited to anounce that I will be playing “NiSi,” the role that @halleberry played in 1997.”

The announcement comes after White did a complete 360 on her life, reversing all of her plastic surgery and giving her life to God.

B.A.P.S Live is a modern adaptation of the ’90s classic Black film that starred Halle Berry. Directing the play is writer, producer and director Je’Caryous Johnson, who also brought the epic New Jack City to the stage.

B.A.P.S, an acronym for Black American Princesses, was originally directed by Robert Townsend and written by Troy Byer. B.A.P.S Live will follow the iconic hood duo Nisi and Mickey as they travel to Los Angeles to chase their dreams of being in a music video only to work for and change the life of a dying millionaire man.

The movie didn’t do well at the box office and received many negative reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 15% Tomatometer and 67% audience score. Despite the negative reviews, B.A.P.S became a cult classic in the Black community.

B.A.P.S the play will open on Mother’s Day Weekend in Detroit (May 11 to 14). After Detroit, the cast will be in L.A. from May 18 to 21. Their last stop for the spring is Atlanta from June 8 to 11. White says that the cast will go back on tour in the fall.

Johnson posted a promo video of the play on his Instagram.
