Andy Cohen Apologizes To Garcelle Beauvais Following Backlash For Dismissing Her Feelings During ‘RHOBH’ Reunion

"NeNe was right," one fan said.

Andy Cohen recently apologized to actress and RHOBH star Garcelle Beauvais after facing backlash for dismissing her feelings during the reunion.

Cohen issued an apology to Garcelle during an Oct. 24 episode of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy.

“Everybody’s been talking about the Beverly Hills reunion. And I just want to say, I’ve been listening to everyone’s feedback about the reunion, and I really need to sincerely apologize, not only for diverting the topic but for not returning–even worse–to the serious conversation that was at hand,” he said on the show. “I have deep admiration for Garcelle.”

Cohen went on, saying he and the veteran actress “had a really good, productive conversation last Thursday.” His sentiments were seemingly about his lack of interest in her feelings regarding her issue with RHOBH cast members Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne.

“I should have been more in tune with her feelings,” he said. “I just wanted to say that because I’ve been logging in, and I get it.”

During the second part of the RHOBH

reunion, Lisa admitted that she–not Erika who previously took the credit–threw Garcelle’s memoir, “Love Me as I Am,” in the garbage earlier this year. Instead of asking how she felt, however, Andy just conversed with Lisa and Erika about the revelation and even joked about Lisa’s recycling habits.

Naturally, fans were outraged at his insensitivity towards the situation and criticized him for it. Some even brought up former RHOBH star Nene Leakes’ past comments about him and said he only apologized because he was forced to.

“He only apologized because of the backlash he’s receiving. Nene was right. Next,” one wrote.

In April, Nene sued him, Bravo, and RHOA‘s production team for creating a racist and hostile environment for Black women.

“NBC, Bravo and True foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not encouraged,” the suit said.

Months later, in August, Nene dismissed it due to reaching an eventual settlement.
