Actress Letitia Wright Hospitalized Following Accident on Set of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

She's expected to go back to the set.

Letitia Wright was injured on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and taken to the hospital following an accident with a stunt rig.

According to Variety, the 27-year-old actress was filming in Boston when the incident occurred. Wright, who portrays “Shuri” in the Marvel series, is expected to head back to work once she’s released from the hospital.

“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a spokesperson for Marvel told Variety on Wednesday.

The Atlanta-based movie’s filming schedule isn’t expected to have any delays either.

Black Panther’s latest installment is bringing back most of the original cast (the movie’s star Chadwick Boseman passed away last year), including Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba and Angela Bassett. The newest addition to the  Oscar-nominated movie is

I May Destroy You, creator Micaela Coel.

Ryan Coogler, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s director, started filming the sequel in June.

Boseman’s noticeable absence still affects everyone involved in the sequel.

Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige talked about what it was like returning to the set after Boseman’s death.

“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad, but everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

We wish Letitia a speedy recovery. The film is scheduled for release on July 8, 2022.
