On Friday, Power actor Isaiah Stokes was indicted with charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the death of Tyrone Jones of Queens Village.
According to the Associated Press, the incident occurred on February 7, and police officers say surveillance footage shows Stokes driving off in a car near Linden Boulevard and 200th Street in New York.
The actor is then seen firing 11 rounds into a parked Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Stokes was indicted by Queens grand jury and Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Holder.
In a press release, District Attorney Katz said, “The defendant is accused of unloading nearly eleven shots during this brazen afternoon shooting. Gun violence is all too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow it to become the norm.”
Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced Jones dead. According to prosecutors, the motive for the shooting is still unknown.
According to his IMDb page, Stokes, a Queens native, was raised in Rochdale Village, a part of the South Jamaica neighborhood, and attended college at Delaware State University.
The actor’s career began with the film debut of rapper Cam’ron in the 2006 drama series, Killa Season, set to match the release of his album with the same name.
Stokes is most known for his recent acting credit in the Starz drama Power, in which he played Mozzy in a 2019 episode of the series.
He’s also been seen in other series such as Law & Order: SVU, Boardwalk Empire, The Americans, Louie, Blue Bloods, The Mysteries of Laura, and more.

Stokes appears in court on July 19 and could face up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
Despite several attempts, the actor’s representatives and agents have declined to comment on the matter.
