A Gucci store in South Park Mall in Charlotte lost $16,000 in merchandise after two brazen thieves snatched seven purses and ran away.
The thieves walked away with seven Gucci purses, more than $16,000 worth of merchandise, reported Fox 46 Charlotte. The men used an unorthodox way to pull of the heist.
Gucci had a rope to control the flow of people in and out of the store. Instead of running into the store yelling and guns ablaze, they waited behind a rope like normal customers. When they got to the front, they made their move.
“They waited in patiently until they got to the front,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Detective Adrian Johnson told Fox 46. “When they got to the front, they jumped the ropes, went inside the store, and started taking items off the shelves.”
Once the two men got their hands on the Gucci bags, they fled South Park Mall on foot. Before they were gone, a witness snapped a picture of the suspects. One of the men looked directly into the camera before they ran off. No one was injured during the incident.

“This brave person stepped up took a picture of that gentleman, directly in his face and got it to us as soon as possible,” Johnson said.
The picture is an asset to the ongoing investigation.
“We have several leads in this case and we’re looking at everyone. It may take some time and it may not it’s just depending on how fast we can work through everything that we have, every piece of evidence,” he said.
No one has been held accountable for the robbery and the police have not named any suspects.

Gucci corporate has not said anything publicly about the robbery.
