After a recently released video showed YSL Polo exhibiting erratic and distracting movements during the ongoing YSL RICO trial, Young Thug’s lawyer filed a motion to remove Polo as a codependent on September 1.

Court documents obtained by XXL revealed that Brian Steel, Young Thug’s attorney, filed the motion on the basis that Polo has been exhibiting extremely unprofessional behavior while sitting in the courtroom. Steel said that Polo’s conduct has been entirely unacceptable and voiced concerns that he could affect codependent Young Thug’s ability to have a fair trial.

Steel claimed Polo was “using movements with his hands, threatening the prosecutors as well as the jurors” and that it would affect “Thug’s constitutional right to a fair trial that is not prejudiced.” The motion to remove seeks to separate Polo from his fellow defendants in trial and judgment.

Steel referenced an incident that occurred during a recent August 31 hearing where Polo visibly displayed erratic behavior while sitting alongside his attorney, Surinder Chadha Jiminez, Esq. The video has since been posted on social media, and it shows the rapper moving his hands around, swinging his head, and pointing around the room. The presiding judge, Ural Glanville, agreed to assess Polo’s competency and mental state due to his behavior.

Judge Glanville expressed that he didn’t believe Polo’s odd behavior was a cry for attention since another judge had already called him out for his unprofessional behavior. He said, “I don’t believe that he may be doing this just for the purposes of drawing attention to himself.” Judge Glanville continued to point out that he was interested in hearing what was causing the “extra movements” since Polo’s attorney had no explanation.
