FAMU alumna Terica Williams wants her critics to keep the same energy for a University of Arizona student who also had a risque graduation photoshoot.
The U of A student, Rachel Davenport, quote-tweeted a Twitter user who asked, “How does one serve c**t in an academic way…?” on May 19.
She attached two graduation photos. One photo presented her wearing transparent stripper heels, a red bikini top, a matching thong and her graduation robe. In the cheeky photo with the thong, Davenport hung upside down on a stripper pole with her legs spread wide open. In the middle of the picture is a water fountain that just so happened to be right above Davenport’s “private area.”
The second image was more conservative. Davenport donned a white dress with diamond cuts on the sides, stripper heels and her graduation ceremony attire (cap, gown and U of A stole).

While there were mixed reactions in the comment section, one stood out.

Davenport, a public health major with a minor in anthropology, responded on May 20 with, “I also got a similar comment on my Insta, and yes, I did walk- but you also can’t really compare the situations other than we both look good? I’m in a swimsuit, and the FAMU girl was naked…what matters is we both educated and fine as hell.”

Cute response, but Williams didn’t feel the same.
Last year, not only did the FAMU grad catch flack for her nude-like photoshoot in front of the university’s brand-new Rattler statue, but the university withheld her diploma.
Williams had to lawyer up, and the lawsuit continued for about seven months.
The Rattler responded to Davenport through a quote-tweet on May 21.

She also quote-tweeted Davenport’s tweet with the grad photos and wrote, “Y’all do her how y’all did me.”

And she continued in a chain of tweets. “Y’all told me to die…y’all sent me death threats daily…Y’all said I’ll never get a husband or no job will ever hire me…Y’all called me a gorilla, monkey, ugly…etc….Y’all said I’m everything a woman shouldn’t be. Just because I’m a ghetto Black girl out the hood trying to make it…Y’all had me get lawyers and fight for a degree (that I earned) for six months…Y’all belittle my intelligence by saying I f**ked for my grades.”

Williams then asked if Davenport got a pass because of her lighter complexion.
She attached screenshots of awful messages she received for her graduation photos.

While Davenport received much support on her Instagram, Twitter users didn’t like the double standard.
