A Black female therapist was fired from her job after posting several TikTok videos advising Black men to go to therapy. Following her videos urging Black men to work on themselves, things went downhill for the young clinician. The turmoil commenced on Aug. 12.
The therapist named Shabree Rawls claimed an article was the main cause of her getting fired, along with angry viewers doxxing her job.

It all started when Rawls did a stitch on a video that discussed an article about how lonely single men are rising. Rawls responded by saying she’s been vocal about how men needed to expand their “emotional vocabulary” so their relationships can flourish.

“I’ve been telling y’all motherf**kers that y’all are going to be single for the rest of your f**king life if you do not increase your emotional communication skills, emotional intelligence, or any of these things,” she said. “The Psychology Today article that my good sis is referencing is nothing but proof that these podcast, alpha male bulls**t a**, father issue having a** motherf**kers is forcing y’all to a lifetime of singleness.”
Following the stitch video, Rawls responded to a comment telling her that her reason for why men are single is wrong.
“So, despite actual statistics stating that men are actually the f**k alone because y’all refuse to expand your emotional vocabulary cuz b***hes are not dealing with your horse s**t anymore,” the therapist began. “Even in an article, y’all are still not believing this. I have so many clients that are leaving their partners because they refuse to expand any part of themselves.”
She referred back to the “podcast men” who encourage other men to treat women poorly thinking that tactic will succeed in getting women.
“I’m here to tell you, bruh bruh, that we’re human beings and don’t want to tolerate y’all f**k s**t,” she explained in the TikTok video. “I.e, we are okay with being childless and alone at the cost of your emotional abuse.”
In a TikTok video posted on Aug. 13, she directed her sermon to Black men.
“You know, my favorite flavor of ice cream is hard-working Black man, but I can’t seem to find that flavor in their store no more, and I’m trying to figure out what the f**k why,” Rawls remarked. “In my experience, specifically when it comes to dating Black men just off top want b***hes to submit but provide nothing…to submit to. Nowadays, y’all don’t even have the education or credentials to be talking to a b***h, especially out the side of your neck.”
She continued with how she noticed there’s a competition in relationships about who makes the most money when those relationships should be “symbiotic.”
“Black men are so consumed with being dominant and being on top…for what?” the clinician asked. “At the cost of dimming your b***hes shine?”
She then offered professional advice about what to do with “dusty” people in their lives who don’t contribute anything positive by using more colorful language.
“Tell that dusty b***h to f**k off,” Rawls advised. “They f**king up your mental health. You gotta come talk to me every week cuz they in your life f**king it up. F**k that dusty b***. You know how we talk about boundary setting in session? Set the hard boundary of get the f**k out of my life.”

Rawls addressed the fact that she was going viral on Twitter with her TikTok videos and talked about how a lot of Black men are mad at her for preaching the truth.
“So, yesterday, on Twitter, I went viral because a bunch of men got butthurt [from] me telling them to better themselves,” the therapist said. “They’re mad cuz I called them dusty b****es and wanted them to be accountable for their f**k s*** behavior. But, like, go off, king. Be s**tty. I was dead a** like. Hey, go talk about the s**t that hurts you, and plagues you, and has traumatized you so you can basically learn the emotional vocabulary required to express yourself to make your lie easier. And they were like, ‘f**l this.”
The young therapist continued,” Now, I know a lot of y’all think the only socially acceptable response to things that you don’t like is anger, but I’m here to tell you when you go to therapy, you learn a variety of other emotions and when you learn to communicate those things your life gets easier. But instead of being accountable, you want to displace your hatred for your father on me. Go talk to somebody about why that is, King.”

About a week ago, Rawls posted an apology video for her colorful language and clarified her intentions with the previous videos. Towards the end, she got emotional because she stated that she was for Black men and want them to progress. She brought up the trauma many Black men go through because they didn’t grow up in a household with male support. She expressed that she was passionate in the previous videos because she was tired of Black men dying because they weren’t taught by a male figure in their homes.
The company Rawls was fired from comprised a majority of white therapists and a handful of Black therapists. She was one of the prominent Black workers to advocate for healthy mentalities and relationships in the Black community.
The Black clients Rawls had looked to her for help and opened up to her about the traumas they endure in toxic relationships, in their household, and in themselves. And the same demographic she was supporting on her TikTok platform and line of work are the same ones that got her fired and took away her mentally struggling clients’ trustworthy source of help
