Willie Junior Maxwell II, better known as Fetty Wap, was arrested earlier this week and has since been indicted for a conspiracy to sell over 100 kilograms of various drugs, including heroin, cocaine and fentanyl. According to the Patch, the “Trap Queen” rapper is one of six people indicted for the accused crime, one of which also includes a correctional officer at a New Jersey jail.

The New Jersey native was reportedly arrested at Citi Field this past Thursday, Oct. 28, a baseball park located in Queens, New York City. All six defendants were charged with “conspiring to distribute and possess controlled substances,” according to ABC 7, while five of them are also facing a charge for allegedly using firearms during drug trafficking activity.

Fetty Wap is being accused of taking part in the alleged multi-state drug operation, which reportedly included Long Island and New Jersey, according to the Patch. The 30-year-old rapper pleaded not guilty in a Central Islip federal court on Friday, Oct. 29, but was ordered to remain in jail pending his upcoming trial.

According to the Patch, Timothy D. Sini, a district attorney in Long Island, New York, commented on the alleged crimes, “These defendants ran a multimillion-dollar bicoastal drug distribution organization with Suffolk County as their home base. They were wholesale drug dealers who pumped massive quantities of narcotics into our communities,”

Investigators reportedly obtained over $1.5 million during their search, including multiple guns, ammunition, fentanyl pills and other drugs. According to ABC 7, Fetty Wap could be looking at a maximum sentence of life imprisonment if convicted.

Speaking exclusively with the Patch, Fetty Wap’s lawyer reportedly stated that he hopes this is “all a big misunderstanding,” adding, “We’re hoping he gets released so we can clear things up expeditiously.”
