81-Year-Old Martha Stewart Serves Thirst Trap Realness In New Partnership With Green Mountain Coffee

Martha Stewart, the 81-year-old culinary icon, went viral with a video on October 14 for a Green Mountain Coffee commercial. The commercial featured Stewart naked and wearing only an apron, promoting the coffee company’s pumpkin spice flavor.

“I’m just enjoying the natural flavor of pumpkin spice from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, and nothing else, literally,” Stewart said in the viral video.

“Just look at this
a thing of natural beauty,” She acknowledged her innuendo with a laugh. “No, no, not me. My Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Pumpkin Spice coffee. It’s made with natural flavors, which means they stripped away the artificial and left nothing but goodness.”

Phil Drapeu of Green Mountain offered an explanation for the company’s new round of thirst trap marketing.

“Our objective is to recruit new, younger Green Mountain Coffee Roasters consumers while driving existing fans to continue to purchase,” Drapeau, SVP of Coffee Marketing, said to Digiday.

“Green Mountain found a way to cut through the ubiquity of pumpkin spice latte season. The campaign made waves while playing to the strength of the product line, so no matter which way you cut it, the conversation comes back to natural.” The company explained.

Still, people can’t help but be shocked by Stewart’s apparent thirst trap online, and even went as far as to joke that Snoop Dogg surely must be behind her role in the risque commercial. It’s well-known that the cook and the rapper are good friends.

The theory has social media users buzzing to comment about the clip.
